Applying for Child Care Fee Subsidy

Please contact the Children's Services at 1-800-627-2944 to start the application screening process (new client), or to make an appointment (existing client).

New and ongoing applicants will be provided  with a list of information needed to proceed with the application with the Children’s Services Eligibility Worker.

Application Process

Both new and existing clients are reminded that when attending their interview with the Children’s Services Eligibility Worker, to bring the necessary documentation to establish eligibility and includes:

  • Verification of income using the federal government Notice of Assessment or Canada Child Tax Benefit for the most recent tax year.

  • Verification of reason for service (proof of employment or education).

  • All other relevant information as requested by the Children’s Services Eligibility Worker.

The application for Child Care Fee Subsidy will consist of an interview with the parent / guardian and completion of the following:

  • Income Test

  • Parental Agreement

  • Release of Information Consent


Example of daily cost for child care vs adjusted income

Note that no family pays more than the local cost of child care for all children. For example, if adjusted income is $80,000 the family is eligible for subsidy as long as the daily cost is over $54.00/day.
