A Message from Chief Salvis
“I am proud to be a part of the Leadership Team at DTSSAB Paramedic Services. Healthcare delivery faces many challenges in a post-pandemic world. However, we have been rising to those challenges and will continue to do so. Today, tomorrow, and long into the future.”
First in Response. Leaders in Care.
2025 is an anniversary year for DTSSAB Paramedic Services. We are celebrating 20 years of service delivery across the District of Timiskaming. This year, we honour our history while looking ahead to the future. Paramedicine is evolving. From a past based heavily on response times and “lights and sirens” driving we are moving towards a model of out-of-hospital healthcare. We will always be ready to respond. But we are aiming to respond to the changing needs of the communities we serve. Through both the traditional 911 response and Community Paramedicine programs, we strive to be leaders in the care we provide.
A Vision of Support
Our staff aim to provide excellent out-of-hospital healthcare as we support individuals in need through both the traditional frontline 911 response and our Community Paramedic programs.
The Leadership Team strives to support our staff so that our staff can be ready to respond to the needs of our communities.
All staff aim to support one another so the organization can thrive and meet the challenges we face.
Delivery is our Mission
DTSSAB Paramedic Services uses data and evidence to drive our decisions, shape the organization, and steer us towards our goals.
We aim to collaborate with community stakeholders so we may understand and respond to the needs of the individuals we serve.
A Commitment to Our Values of Integrity and Respect
As a leader, I believe very strongly in the importance of integrity and respect.
I am committed to honest and transparent communication. I accept accountability for my actions and the actions of my team.
I aim to be empathetic as I treat people with courtesy and fairness.
The Paramedic profession has been transforming and growing a lot over the last few years. New models of care, expanded scope of practice, changes to equipment, etc. all point to an exciting time for DTSSAB paramedics. I look forward to helping to lead this organization into the next chapter of its story in the District of Timiskaming. I am committed to supporting this Team as we deliver on our mission.
Stay safe out there.
Sincerely,
Sarah Salvis
